Számtalan madáretetőt lehet vásárolni, de ha barkácsolni szeretnénk rengeteg könnyen kivitelezhető ötletet találhatunk interneten vagy magazinokban. Barkácsolni lehet fából, fémből, műanyagból, kartonból... szinte bármiből: újrahasznosítottból, újból, használtból... Aranyos és gyerekekkel kivitelezhető okos ötleteket találtunk az óvodások kertépítő versenyén a a Hortus Hungaricus kiállításon, ahol a téma a madárbarát kert volt. Szamóca részt vett a verseny zsűrijében. Nehéz volt a választás, mert mind szépek voltak, ezért mint követendő példa ajánlom mindegyiket. A mi választásunk a Ladánybenei Csiribiri óvoda Bogyó és Babóca csoportjának alkotására esett, mert ellenállhatatlanul aranyosak ezek a mogyoróból készült madárkák, és mert sok termést, bogyókat és
